$2 Diet Buffer Calculator

If you feel like basic grocery items are more expensive in the region you live, you can use this calculator to give yourself an adequate buffer above the standard $2 limit. INSTRUCTIONS: Before you use this calculator, go to your local grocery store and write down the average prices of each "Food Item" listed below (Gallon of Milk, Dozen Eggs, Loaf of Bread, etc.) and then enter those prices into the corresponding fields below. Once you have entered all of the prices, click the "Calculate" button at the bottom of the form and it will give you the REAL amount that you have to spend each day. Notice that the calculator is comparing to the prices of food based on the Average US Price index. If you do not feel that your local food prices are highesr than the US average, then there is no need to fill this form out, simply use $2 as your guideline.
